I really do love this time of year. I finally have the opportunity to get my cosy jumpers out and wrap myself in my winter coat and scarf. I’m not a huge fan of summer. Whilst I do enjoy sunshine and holidays, I find choosing outfits incredibly difficult and I hate being hot and sweaty on those days where we’re having heatwaves.
As the evenings are getting darker and the days more cold and crisp, I’m hearing more and more people complain about how gutted they are. I, on the other hand, am extremely excited. With Halloween, bonfire night and Christmas to look forward to, I can’t wait for the nights where the candles are lit, the fire is on and rain is beating against the window. I’m definitely a home comforts kind of girl.
With Halloween just around the corner, I want to share with you some of my favourite things about the holiday.
Carving pumpkins 🎃
I’m still horrifically bad at this, but in my defence, the steak knife I use isn’t the easiest to style with.
I always watch countless horrors and thrillers with my fiance anyway, but watching them during Halloween is extra special. Not forgetting the classic Hocus Pocus, I always make sure I watch this every year as my mum always made me go to bed when I was younger because I had school in the morning.
I don’t always dress up for Halloween, but when I do get the opportunity, the process of choosing a costume is always exciting. Myself and my other half are going as skeletons this year, slightly spookier than our initial idea of Ash and Pikachu!
I went to Spooky World in Warrington with my friends one year and the experience was both fun and slightly distressing. There were a few different attractions to visit at Apple Jacks Farm, including a haunted house, a slaughter house and a haunted hayride. It’s definitely a must do with your friends. I did have a bit of a panic attack however due to my claustrophobia 🙈
Whatever you’re doing this Halloween, I hope it involves lots of sweets and scary celebrations 👻
