November is finally here! I love this time of year – Halloween followed by Bonfire Night and of course, the build up to Christmas. Festive preparations are well and truly underway. I’m really looking forward to Christmas shopping, get togethers with friends and family, hot chocolate and the German markets. So, what preparations have I done so far?
I’ve purchased my Christmas tree
My Christmas tree and decorations always go up on the 1st December, it’s kind of a tradition of mine. I know a lot of people prefer to put theirs up around two weeks before Christmas, but the festive decorations make me so happy that I want them to be up for as long as possible. I got my tree from John Lewis this year. This is the first time myself and my fiancé have our own place to decorate and I genuinely can’t wait to start adding the cosy, festive touches. The branches are nice and thick and really fill out the overall shape of the tree. It’s also a great height (6ft) and will really make a statement in our home.
Baubles and garlands
John Lewis have a great Christmas range this year. I bought two sets of baubles in a warm copper and silver colour from here, one large set and one small for variety. They are incredibly pretty and will tie in very nicely with the garland I’m purchasing off Amazon for my fireplace. This is more of a gold colour and is also pre-lit (lights are my favourite). I’ve also bought some silver beaded garlands to drape on the branches 😬
I’ve yet to purchase lights for the tree, but I’m looking for something that will give it a nice warm glow. I’m also on the look out for a tree topper and some silver snowflake or heart ornaments!
I’m a big fan of candles at the best of times so I like to stock up especially at Christmas. If you’re like me, you’ll be on a budget. I found some really cute candles in Primark recently with pugs on them that say ‘Berry Christmas’.
Candles like this are super cute and I love propping them on bedside tables, my dressing table and by the fireplace.
I’m already keeping my eyes open for huge, cosy knitted jumpers to hide in this Christmas. I’ve bought two from Primark so far. One of the best things about this time of year is that I live in jumpers. Like any girl, I find every morning a struggle as I can’t decide on what outfit to wear for the day. Jumpers are just so effortless. H&M is normally my go to place for jumpers so I’ll certainly be going for a wander in my next shopping trip. Any tips on where to find cute festive jumpers would be much appreciated 🙂
That’s all I’ve done preparation wise for Christmas so far. I will no doubt be sharing more of my festive ventures with you and would love to hear about what you’ve done so far. There must be somebody reading this that shares my excitement 🤗🎄
